Business Growth Grants (Closing 30 June 2027)
Name of program: Business Growth Grants
Who is it for:
- First Nations businesses
What is the aim of the funding?
- to help Aboriginal Territorians with starting up or growing their business
- to increase the size, scale, diversity and maturity of NT Aboriginal businesses
Who's funding it? Aboriginal Investment NT
What can be funded?
- Property, plant and equipment.
- Fit-out costs.
- Staff wages (capped at one position to a maximum of 38 hours per week, for 26 weeks at the National Minimum Wage).
- Direct business and administration costs (e.g. insurances).
- Essential professional services and consultancy costs (e.g. taxation, legal, financial) to a maximum of 10% of the grant funding sought.
- Trading stock and consumables (capped at a 50% contribution, where you demonstrate that you can and will fund the other 50% of the cost of trading stock and consumables).
Conditions:
- Businesses in the growth phase of their journey can apply for up to $150,000
- Only one eligibility application and one grant application is allowed each financial year
- Application process is done in two steps:
- Step 1: Eligibility Application (up to 6 weeks to assess) — Fill in and submit the Eligibility Application Form. Their team will assess to see if you meet all the Eligibility criteria.
- Step 2: Grant Application (up to 12 weeks to assess) — If you are eligible, they will then send you the link to the application form to apply for the grant.

Business Startup Grants (Closing 30 June 2027)

Who is it for:

corporations, sole traders or partnerships trading under a business name registered in the NT
What is the aim of the funding?
Who's funding it? Aboriginal Investment NT
What can be funded?
- Property, plant and equipment
- Fit-out costs
- Staff wages (capped at one position to a maximum of 38 hours per week, for 26 weeks at the National Minimum Wage)

CentreCorp Community Support Program
Name of program: Donations
Who is it for:
- Aboriginal people – especially young people – who are disadvantaged and unable to fully participate in sporting, educational, cultural and similar activities
- community groups who provide welfare/health services to Aboriginal people
- Peak bodies
- new job roles that provide training, education, access to employment, etc
Who's funding it? Centrecorp Foundation
Conditions:
- applicants must be identified as Aboriginal from the Central Land Council Region with funding primarily directed to benefit Aboriginal people of Central Australia
- some contribution towards the cost (whether in cash or kind) is expected of the applicant
- funding available for (in brief):
- Relief of demonstrated situations of suffering and hardship
- Access to education for youth – sponsorship of selected individuals to attend schools
- Support for tertiary education - the Board may consider costs of living away from home costs, textbooks and other ancillary costs. University or higher education fees which are covered by HECS will not be funded.
- Education support – e.g. creation of Girls Rooms at local high schools
- Health – e.g. community health education
- Transport – e.g. vehicles for other than disable purposes
- Support for IT equipment usually limited to $1,000
- funding will not be provided to establish or support commercial ventures

Community Benefit Fund: Minor Community Grants (Closing 1 July)
Name of program: Community Benefit Fund: minor community grants
Who is it for:
- NT based non-profit community organisations
- NT regional councils
What’s it for? aims to improve the capacity of not-for-profit organisations to provide services, leisure activities and opportunities
Who's funding it? Department of Tourism and Hospitality, NT Government
Conditions:
-
applications are prioritised if:
- they are from organisations with no paid positions (volunteer based)
- they will provide a tangible ongoing community benefit beyond the period of the grant funding
- they will provide a particular benefit to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Territorians
- they will enhance the preservation of culture and heritage in the Territory.

Community Quick Response Grants (Closing 30 June)
Name of program: Community Quick Response Grants
Who is it for:

What is the aim of the funding?

quick-turnaround grants for one-off projects in urban, regional and remote Aboriginal communities and homelands in the NT
Who's funding it? Aboriginal Investment NT
Conditions:
-
apply for funding between $1,000 and $20,000 — or up to $10,000 for event sponsorship

targeted at small-scale projects that are time sensitive

Organisations can apply for more than one grant per year, provided previous grants have been acquitted

Rebates and Subsidies
- Energy bill relief (households) - households can get assistance in paying energy bills
- Energy Bill Relief (small business) - small businesses can get assistance in paying energy bills
- Medical Support Allowance - available to NT Concession Scheme members who have exceeded the concession cap ($800 for water and $1200 for electricity) and have, or have a dependent that has, a medical condition that directly impacts the member’s household’s electricity and/or water consumption
- NT Concession Scheme - provides concessions on a range of essential goods and services - including electricity - to help with expenses
Solar for Multi Dwellings Grant Scheme
Name of program: Solar for Multi Dwellings Grant Scheme
What is it for:
-
get up to $7,500 per dwelling to cover up to 50% of the total installation costs for:
- a shared solar PV system
- solar sharing technology
- smart meters, and
- battery storage systems.
Who is it for:
- First Nations unit management corporations in line with:
- the Unit Titles Act 1975
- the Unit Title Schemes Act 2009
- Other shared property management entity
Who's funding it? NT Government’s Department of Mining and Energy, and funded by the Australian Government through its Community Solar Banks Program
Conditions:
- Where there is no title to common property, the application should be made by the owners of the Dwellings jointly.
- The works must supply power to a minimum of two Dwellings
- The works and the finally completed system must be situated on common property (that is, on parts of the Property owned by the Management Entity (or owners collectively), not on parts of the Property that constitute individually owned Dwellings.
- Costs and benefits of the installation must be equitably shared among Participating Dwellings
