Join the next ‘Powering Up’ clean energy workshop being held in Rockhampton, Queensland on 14-15 May 2025.
First Nations people from the Rockhampton region are invited to attend a 2-day workshop focusing on opportunities and areas where significant clean energy development is proposed.
The workshop is aimed at ensuring First Nations are empowered to engage, consent, negotiate and partner in new clean energy developments.
We’ll dive into the renewable energy landscape in Queensland, learn how to advocate for strong agreements, and explore the pathways to jobs, skills, and business opportunities in clean energy.
The Powering Up workshops are hosted by the First Nations Clean Energy Network and the Clean Energy Council.

The clean energy transition is unfolding at a rapid pace, with solar and wind farms, battery storage systems, and new electricity transmission projects reshaping the energy landscape.
First Nations people and communities are rights holders and critical partners in the clean energy transition.
It’s essential that our people and communities are equipped to manage and explore emerging opportunities in First Nations-led clean energy development and partnerships, as well as understand the risks.
This is about First Nations leadership in the clean energy future - standing strong to protect Country while helping to shape renewable energy projects that deliver benefits for our people.
Previous Powering Up workshops have been held in Western Australia and Victoria to date.
We’ll share more information, including additional Powering Up workshop dates, locations, and registration details as they become available.
Stay tuned, and join us in shaping a clean energy future together.
This project is supported by funding from the Australian Government through the Local Jobs Program.
