We're excited to announce that expressions of interest are now open for our fourth First Nations PowerMakers program, taking place 27–29 October 2026 in Mulubinba (Newcastle, NSW).

Since launching in 2023, PowerMakers has become Australia's leading First Nations clean energy leadership program, with almost 100 First Nations leaders completing the program and joining a growing national network of individuals working to improve the outcomes for our communities.

PowerMakers is designed by and for First Nations people. It's a hands-on program that builds the knowledge, skills and confidence to help communities lead, participate in and benefit from clean energy projects on Country.

You'll learn from First Nations leaders and industry experts from Australia and Canada while connecting with other emerging leaders from across the country.

Whether you're interested in community energy, renewable energy development, advocacy, negotiations or creating economic opportunities for your community, PowerMakers will give you the practical tools and connections to help make it happen.

A First Nations-led two-day forum to ensure First Nations people, communities and businesses don’t get left behind in the Kimberley's accelerated clean energy transition starts today.

The First Nations Clean Energy Network with support from the Indigenous Land and Sea Corporation (ILSC) held the 2026 First Nations Clean Energy Symposium on Wadawurrung Country, Djilang (Geelong, Victoria) from 19-20 August 2026.

This year, we welcomed 500 people to our biggest Symposium yet! 

The First Nations Clean Energy Symposium, Australia's only First Nations-led annual national event, again brought together Traditional Owners, leaders and communities from Australia and globally to collaborate with investors, policy makers, industry and government.

Participants keen level of interest and contributions helped make the gathering a deeply meaningful event, with many takeaways.

Together, we reflected on some of the amazing work being led by our communities both here and globally, shared knowledge and experiences, and built greater understanding about actions we must next take next.

Together, we focussed on what it takes to deliver real outcomes, from equity and co-ownership to stronger agreements, policy, and investment grounded in community priorities and leadership. We listened, shared knowledge, and built on the work we're doing together.

With two days of powerful conversations, practical case studies, and opportunities to connect, the Symposium again fulfilled its aim as a forum for where relationships are built and the next phase of action takes shape.

We’re thrilled to announce that from nearly 100 applicants, 26 emerging First Nations leaders from around the country have been selected to participate in PowerMakers 2025. 

Some 20 First Nations leaders from Queensland attended the third in our series of ‘Powering Up’ workshops held in Rockhampton on 14-15 May 2025.
