Steering group member Brian Bero has been awarded National First Nations Senior Lawyer of the Year!

The First Nations Clean Energy Network is guided by 12 fabulous First Nations leaders from around the country.

One of those people is commercial lawyer Brian Bero, principal and director of Jaramer Legal, and a keen advocate for First Nations in the clean energy transition.

Brian attended the National Indigenous Legal Conference and delivered the Keynote Address at the Tarwirri Gala + National Indigenous Law Awards.

There, he was awarded National Indigenous Senior Lawyer of the Year.

Brian says it's an absolute privilege.

“Many of us do not do our work for the awards but it was a nice recognition from my peers.

"Community members should be aware of the legal frameworks that allow them to lead, have buy in, or derive direct benefits from economic activities in their area, particularly in relation to the renewable energy transition.

"I’ll keep spreading the word and doing the work to ensure this thinking is applied!"
