In WA? Have your say on community benefits from renewables

First Nations in Western Australia can respond to the state government's proposed guidelines for setting community benefits from renewable energy projects.

The Western Australian government released its 'Draft Guideline on Community Benefits for Renewable Energy Projects' for public consultation last week.

The Guidelines can be applied to renewable energy projects such as solar, wind, and battery projects throughout the State.

The government’s guidelines are aiming to 'provide a resource for determining appropriate community benefits arrangements for renewable energy infrastructure’ where community benefit sharing means 'sharing the rewards of renewable energy development with local communities'.

The government’s consultation is open until 4 August 2025.

Have your say by email to [email protected] or by mail to PoweringWA, Department of Energy, Mines, Industry Regulation, and Safety, Locked Bag 100, East Perth WA 6892.
