Gumbaynggirr and Noongar singer and songwriter Emma Donovan is performing at our First Nations Clean Energy Symposium Dinner Showcase on 19 August 2026.

Our annual First Nations Clean Energy Symposium brings together global and local First Nations communities, Traditional Owners, leaders and communities with investors, policy makers, industry and Government for two days of collaborative action.

For those getting up to speed, Emma co-founded Stiff Gins and released her solo album Changes in 2004.

Her collaboration with Melbourne rhythm combo The Putbacks resulted in albums such as Dawn (2014), Crossover (2020), and Til My Song is Done (2024), nominated for an ARIA Award.

Emma has also collaborated with artists like Paul Kelly, The Teskey Brothers, Paul Grabowsky, Spinifex Gum, and the late Archie Roach and Ruby Hunter.

In 2025, Emma launched a new project, Take Me To The River, at the Darwin Festival, paying tribute to the Black American artists who have influenced her journey, reimagined through an Australian lens.

Emma's music is deeply rooted in her cultural heritage, often featuring songs in Gumbaynggirr and Noongar languages, and we are so excited to have her perform at our Symposium on Wadawurrung country!
