The First Nations Clean Energy Symposium, Australia's only First Nations-led annual national event, brings together Traditional Owners, leaders and communities with investors, policy makers, industry and government to collaborate.

This year, we reflect on the incredible work being led by our communities here and internationally, celebrate five years of the First Nations Clean Energy Network, and take action on what's next.

The First Nations Clean Energy Symposium in Adelaide gave insight on how clean energy can both support First Nations communities and be informed by Indigenous perspectives.

The First Nations Clean Energy Symposium was definitely a huge success. We covered everything from heartbreaking stories of climate impacts on our most vulnerable communities to groundbreaking community-led energy projects.

There's 5Cs - consent, collaboration, capacity, co-design and co-ownership - and there needs to be incentives and resources put into all of those.

First Nations groups feeling a sense of urgency about the opportunities clean energy can bring in terms of access to energy, jobs, business development, and First Nations wealth generation on Country are calling for significant action and bold Federal Budget ambition at this year's First Nations Clean Energy Symposium happening in Adelaide on 8-9 May 2024.

With the Federal government’s Budget around the corner and its inaugural First Nations Clean Energy Strategy soon to be launched, our two-day First Nations Clean Energy Symposium on 8-9 May in Tarntanya (Adelaide) seeks to examine how far we’ve come in ensuring First Nations are central in Australia’s energy transition - a commitment by all Australian energy ministers announced in 2022.
