Understanding the UN Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues

The United Nations Voluntary Fund (UNVF), the Indigenous Peoples’ Documentation, Research, and Information Centre (DOCIP), and Nia Tero invite you to a training on the UN Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues (UNPFII).

This intensive virtual session will be part two in a series of five. Participants will learn about the UNPFII’s creation, functioning, sessions and members. They will also learn about the accreditation of organizations, how to register and more.

Here's a look at the agenda:
1️⃣ Spiritual Opening.
2️⃣ Welcome:
    - Morse Flores, FVNU Coordinator.
    - Rémi Orsier, DOCIP Director.
    - Carmen Guerra Ariza, Policy Manager at NIA TERO.
3️⃣ General Instructions: information and interpretation during the meeting.
4️⃣ INDICO: Step-by-Step. (Tristan Harnisch, DOCIP)
5️⃣ Expert Working Group EGM: The Rights Of Indigenous Peoples, Including Those In Voluntary Isolation And Initial Contact In The Context Of The Extraction Of Critical Minerals: thematic review and main conclusions.
6️⃣ Conclusions and Session Closure. (Carmen Guerra Ariza, Policy Manager at NIA TERO)

The training will include interpretation in five languages: English (EN), Spanish (SP), Portuguese (POR), French (FR), and Russian (RU).
