BUILDING KNOWLEDGE, CREATING OPPORTUNITIES

The clean energy transition is unfolding at a rapid pace across regional Australia, with solar and wind farms, battery storage systems, and new electricity transmission projects reshaping the energy landscape.

First Nations people and communities are rights holders and critical partners in Australia's clean energy transition.

It’s essential that our people and communities are equipped to manage and explore emerging opportunities in First Nations-led clean energy development and partnerships, as well as understand the risks.

To support this, the First Nations Clean Energy Network is hosting Powering Up, a clean energy workshop in Geelong, Victoria on Wednesday 24 September.

Together, we’ll unpack the basics of renewable energy, energy landscape and the current policy issues as well as have a masterclass from other First Nations groups on negotiating benefits for First Nations communities.

This is about First Nations leadership in the clean energy future - standing strong to protect Country while helping to shape renewable energy projects that deliver benefits for our people. This session is for First Nations community members, Traditional Owner Corporations, Registered Aboriginal Corporations and Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisations.
