The Clean Energy Investor Group (CEIG) and Castalia are discussing their new report, ‘Pathways to a Sustainable and Resilient NEM’.
In January, CEIG and Castalia released a discussion paper outlining the challenges in the National Electricity Market’s (NEM) design from an investor perspective, highlighting the need for reform.
Learn more from Alex Sundakov from Castalia and Richie Merzian as they explore a set of solutions that represent investors’ perspectives on reforms to market signals for generation, storage and transmission investment, which will contribute to the NEM wholesale market settings review led by Associate Professor Tim Nelson.
The proposed solutions lower the cost of capital/distribute risk efficiently, improve investment coordination, and ensure a reliable, renewable-based electricity system—building on existing market mechanisms to deliver long-term, investor-ready reforms.
