“PowerMakers is about making sure mob lead the change, not get left behind.” (PowerMakers participant 2025)
You don't need to be an energy expert to be a PowerMaker.
Is there a renewable energy project being proposed on your Country that you want to gain better understanding of?
Is your community looking at solar, batteries and other ways to bring down household and community energy bills?
Are you thinking about co-ownership, business opportunities, jobs, or how your mob can get a better deal from projects being developed on Country?
Do you want to understand what the clean energy transition could mean for you and your community?
If yes, PowerMakers is for you.
A wonderful lived experience! Learning so much. PowerMakers is one of the best events I’ve been to for a long time. (PowerMakers participant 2023)
PowerMakers is designed by and for First Nations people to build the knowledge, skills and confidence our communities need to participate in and lead Australia's clean energy transition.
Since our first PowerMakers in 2023, almost 100 First Nations emerging leaders have completed the program and joined a growing national network of First Nations people working to create stronger outcomes for our communities.
“Being part of the 2025 PowerMakers program has been both inspiring and grounding.” (PowerMakers participant 2025)
A big part of PowerMakers is learning from each other - sharing knowledge, experiences and ideas with First Nations people from across the country and taking those learnings back home.
You don't have to come in knowing all the answers.
Come with questions, ideas and something you want to take back to your community.
Expressions of Interest close 18 September 2026.

"Enabling change means having the right people in the room. My key learning from PowerMakers was about community engagement and bringing community along. We can set the foundation for the next ones coming through." (PowerMakers participant 2023)
PowerMakers is open to First Nations members of the First Nations Clean Energy Network. If you're not yet a member, you can join for free here.
